The Practice of Sustainable Mushroom Cultivation In-Person
This presentation and discussion will provide a fun, immersive introduction to the fascinating 5th Kingdom - Fungi. We will explore easy, low-tech/low-input mushroom cultivation techniques that folks can easily employ in their home and garden. Participants will learn about the lifecycle and ecology of fungi and gain a fundamental understanding of growing gourmet mushrooms using common agricultural and forestry byproducts. Topics will include selecting appropriate mushroom species, choosing suitable growing mediums, integrating mushroom cultivation into your home and garden, and preparing and cooking a variety of mushrooms.
